Crisis Management

I wish I was one of those people who could just forget the bad things. While I may be able to forgive (in time) I unfortunately don't forget.

And I'm also one to fester. I'll mull something around in my head and chew on it for so long that it keeps me awake at night - makes it difficult to eat - and fills me with nervous energy.

So in the wake of this week's drama - I'm trying to put that nervous energy to good use. To do something with my jittery hands and nerves that is actually somewhat productive. Somehow manage the crisis without falling to pieces.

See dining room turned sewing room below:

I bought this really pretty bunny toile fabric years ago - back when I was determined to learn how to sew - when I actually had no idea how to thread a machine, let alone cut out and piece together a pattern, or gasp fully line and pipe an outfit.

In one of my cleaning out/purging fits recently, I came across the fabric - and thought 'hmmm - I'll bet I can make matching Easter outfits for the kids out of that' although I had no idea when I'd find the time.

Turns out - I had plenty of spare time on my hands - in the middle of the night when I can't sleep.

And thankfully, I had just enough fabric to barely cut out the pieces - and I mean BARELY. There were literally only tiny scraps of fabric left once it was all said and done.

Deonne thinks it's a little too 'girly' for the boys. Whatever. I had it on hand. I needed something to do with myself other than sit and stew about this week's events - so I'm going forward.

And I think it's cute.

It'll look sweet for Easter pictures, egg hunts, and since I don't think the fabric is too Easter-specific - they can wear them through the spring.

  1. I am glad I am not the only one to turn the formal dining room into the sewing/craft room. As you will see when you visit. They are beautiful outfits! I can't wait to see the pictures!

I am truly sorry about "blindsided"........... you are a great person, a fantastic Mom, and a wonderful friend.
